Gigabyte Technology is expected to be shipping 20 Million motherboards globally this year for the DIY market, it’s the highest annual level for Gigabyte.
For the second quarter of 2013, the Taiwanese company have already shipped 9.9 million units for the first half of the year, doing the math, they only need to ship 10.1million boards until the holiday season. This is not counting Gigabyte’s notebooks and tablets, which aims to ship 230,000 of these globally.
Gigabyte also stepped into the handset business. Sources indicates that their handsets are 40% produced in house, and 60% outsourced from China and are mainly sold in Russia, Southeast Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
Gigabyte is one of the fastest growing brands here in the Philippines. Locally, it would not be surprising if Gigabyte would stand toe to toe with motherboard giants like ASUS and MSI if they are not already doing so. What do you think of Gigabyte’s future here? Let us know by commenting below.
