After being criticized for the always on-line SimCity, Electronic Arts is now looking at a possibility for an Offline mode.
A survey have been sent by the publisher to players of the game, it lists a range of potential features that could feasibly be put in the game, one of which is the ‘Classic Mode’ described as “In offline or online mode, play a single funtioning city using cheats and unlocks allowing you to create the perfect city”.
This suggests that it might be possible to have an offline mode for Sim City, which might contradicts statements released by the GM of Maxis, Lucy Bradshaw. The EA survey was shown by a Reddit user and was published online on the link below.
There are more points that was included in the survey, including:
- Specific city sets (German, French, Japanese)
- The availability of important people called heroes
- Adding a co-op mode where you and your friends can create cities together
- and alot more.
Electronic Arts and Maxis might be using the ‘Xbox One’ strategy to continue the momentum Sim City has, but is it too late. Personally, I have’nt played the game, although I’ve seen its gameplay and I am willing to try it.
If ever the Classic Mode is implemented do you think Sim City might be bought by more gamers?
