“A lot of the innovations and things that are proven on the PC are making their ways onto consoles,” “The consoles are looking more and more like PCs every day” – Alienware GM Frank Azor
It looks like Alienware GM Frank Azor is not impressed with the new Xbox One and Playstation 4. Why would he be impressed, both consoles are equipped with AMD CPUs and AMD graphic cards; a normal diy PC builder can copy what they did.
They are becoming more and more like PCs.
I remember back then when you have to run disks inside your console to play them, unlike the PC where you have to install them. Also, back then you need to have a memory card to save your games. Now, you can save your game in your hard drive like a normal PC and you can also install your game on a hard drive like a normal PC too. You can also play on a controller on a PC like what you normally do on a console.
The most played games are on PC, Starcraft, WoW, World of Tanks, Dota, LoL, etc., though some have been ported to the consoles it still originated from PC. Consoles also take pride on their media centers; conveniently, you can access all the media you need on the PC with the Internet.
Alienware prides themselves of their new X51 gaming computer. It does look like a console, but it is a PC. Price starts at 699USD. Personally, I find the X51 better looking than the other two consoles that was released; although its a bit pricey. Well, it is Alienware.
nice article winslow… actually i owned a alienware m11x R1 for more than a year but when laptop starting to get slower, i opted to sell it to assemble a mini-itx rig. after a month of using my new itx rig, alienware released the X51! i was very upset but also happy at the same time. i still have my itx and i still upgrade it from time to time including modding it. just sharing
i have a comment: nice article winslow.
