Giveaway: Asus HD 7870 Direct CU II

Watch this video first to learn more about this week’s giveaway.

What we wanted is to give this Asus HD 7870 to the person who uses their PC a lot but has an old video card.

Here are the criteria we will look into:

Your Current Video Card (50%). This will help us determine if you really need an upgrade. Of course, your current card should be older than this one.

Your Reason for the Upgrade (30%). We want to hear from you why you need this free upgrade. Be honest!

Creativity (20%). You can blog about it, post a video on YouTube, take pictures or whatever gimmick you think will help you snag this baby.

We’ll start accepting entries now until end of the month and then announce the winner. Just leave a link at the comment section for your entries. You can submit as many as you can as long as it’s a different video card.

Remember — we will get your old video card in exchange for this new one.

Of course, don’t forget to follow us on Twitter (@teamtechsquad) and on Facebook (facebook.com/teamtechsquad).

Also thanks to our sponsor, Asus Philippines, for this giveaway.

Your Current Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 OC 2GB DualX

Your Reason for the Upgrade: I know I’ve just bought my video card just a few weeks ago, but I’ve been wanting this exact model, but it really just doesn’t fit my budget.
Lagging on Crysis 3 Open Beta, siguro pag nakuha ko to, hindi na :P
Pero other than gaming, for video projects and Photoshopping big files. Yun lang.

Creativity: Gusto kong gumawa ng video e, kaso para ma-submit ko agad, photo: http://db.tt/FLXtnXlc Siguro pag nagka-time, gawa ako.

Followed on Twitter and Liked on Facebook. :D

Sana maging fair yung mag judge sa mga entries. Di lang dapat nakakaawa na walng gpu yung makakuha nito, dapat yung deserving din. Minsan kasi yung iba nagmamakaawa, wala nang creativity and reason doon. Suggestion lang ;)

My current GPU is an Nvidia GT630, a rather disappointing card. For those who don’t know, the GT630 is just a REBRAND of the GT440 way back from 2010. IKR, I was fooled too. Its age is showing and it’s not at all worth the bang for the buck. It’s a downgrade, really. I used to have a 9600GT which can play most games on highest settings but then it gave up on me. It seems that Nvidia has somewhat given up on its entry level cards and focused instead on its high end range. Tsk tsk. Thus if given the chance I’d switch to the Red side to try the awesomeness of AMD/ ATI. As long as my ancient motherboard (with a Core 2 Duo; not even an i3 haha) can handle it, I believe that I am tremendously qualified for an upgrade.

Aside from heavy gaming (everyone’s a gamer), this upgrade would help the overall performance of my computer in Photoshop, editing videos (hey, I sent a video right? :p), as well as other graphic intensive applications. Most importantly, I need the artillery to run awesome Blu-ray rips via HDMI on my big screen. XBMC would work great for this beast of an HTPC. Hopefully I’d be able to watch Scarlett Johansson’s sweet skin tight leather suit in The Avengers in full quality HD ;)

Current Video Card = using an onboard HD4250 which eats 1gb of my ram.

Currently have an older Inno3d Geforce TI 5500 with no slot to put in (AGP)
Reason for Upgrade = my current motherboard doesn’t have an AGP only PCI-e so I can’t reuse my graphics card, currently stuck with an onboard HD4250 but the performance in modern games is pretty dismal. Also planning on playing Guildwars 2 but based on reports my current card is unsupported. Also tried to use this graphics card with Dragon’s Nest and had to tone down the effects just to be able to play.
