The Asus MX229Q features an AH-IPS panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1080 and an ultra-wide aspect ratio of 21:9. AH-IPS means Advanced High Performance IPS, what it does is improve color accuracy, increase resolution and PPI, with grater light transmission but for a lower power consumption.
The MX229Q, a 29″ monitor was first seen at this year’s Computex, together with Asus’ first ever 4k monitor. The MX229Q also provides a brightness of 300 cd/m2, 178 degrees by 178 degrees viewing angles, a dynamic contrast ration of 80,000,000:1 and should offer comparable performance to the LG EA93 since it also has a LG manufactured panel. It also has a 3W on-board stereo speakers, a tilt range of +20 degrees to -5 degrees, a DisplayPort, dual-link DVI, HDMI, and 3.5 mm audio inputs.
The Asus MX229Q will be on sale with a retail price of $614, we still have no news if this would be available locally.
